About Ignite
Ignite Chelmsford has been connecting people from all backgrounds, sectors, and organisations to give our city a shared voice and a strong creative community. Launching in 2017, it is now able to grow this collaborative work, and join together networks that are working with the best interests of Chelmsford’s creative identity.
We believe creativity thrives in a warm, open, and encouraging environment where everybody is welcome. We are passionate about helping Chelmsford realise its ambition as a city of creativity and innovation.

What We Do
Connect:
Bring different people together, to form friendships, partnerships and collaborations. Building on Chelmsford’s heritage as a city of entrepreneurs and innovation.
Represent:
Give Chelmsford’s Creative Community a clear and influential voice. Gathering knowledge of what is happening ‘on the ground’ to inform strategy and policy.
Champion:
Celebrate Chelmsford as a unique and distinctive city. Highlighting our local cultural, creative, and artistic talent.
Support:
Enable everyone to participate and grow their ideas, projects and talents. Connecting people to the funding, resources and skills they need to develop.
Inspire:
Offer opportunities to learn from and be inspired by others. With lively socials, networking opportunities and links to Essex, UK and beyond.
How do we achieve all of that?
We offer a free open membership to anybody who works, volunteers, or studies in the creative industries.
You won’t be asked to show evidence of an art degree, or a CV packed with creative achievements.
Neither do you have to have created anything yourself (yet!). Whatever your background or starting point, all you need is a genuine interest in creativity and culture in Chelmsford, and a willingness to share your ideas.

Member Directory
Our growing Member Directory contains a wealth of amazing people connecting, creating, collaborating, seeking support and inspiration. All with the same goal of igniting a passion for Chelmsford’s creative ambitions.
Action Circles
If there's something you've always wanted to develop with Chelmsford's creativity and creative community at it's forefront, now is your chance! These Action Circles will allow small groups (4-10 people) of focused creative people to come together and develop their ideas, seek collaboration and ultimately, drive results together.
Events
Attend our monthly socials and regular creative events to enjoy a relaxed, place to meet and share ideas, helping ideas to grow and take hold. Our online Discord server is the ideal creative hub to connect with others and call out for collaboration.
Exclusive Online Community
Members get exclusive access to our Discord server - a flourishing online community of creatives, offering a platform to easily collaborate, socialise and share work. And if you've never heard of Discord, don't worry -- We have accessible how-to-use guides!
