Code of Conduct
Ignite Chelmsford Code of Conduct
Ignite Chelmsford is committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive creative community and exists primarily to connect local creatives. By participating, all members agree to uphold the following principles:
1. Kindness and Good Faith
Treat all members with respect, kindness, and honesty. Engage in discussions with good intentions, and assume the same of others. Disagreement is natural, but hostility, sarcasm intended to belittle, or dismissive behaviour will not be tolerated.
2. Respect for Creative Work
All creative work shared here should be treated with equal respect, regardless of medium, style, or experience level. Avoid making judgments about the perceived “worth” of work or reducing it to comparative or transactional terms. Keep discussions supportive and considerate.
3. Inclusive and Welcoming Environment
We celebrate diversity in all its forms. Discrimination, exclusion, or harmful language toward others based on identity, background, or creative practice will not be tolerated.
4. Feedback and Critique
Do not offer critique—constructive or otherwise—unless it has been explicitly requested by the person sharing their work. When feedback is invited, it must be respectful, thoughtful, and focused on the work, not the individual.
5. Space and Participation
Be mindful of how much space you take up in conversations. Allow others the opportunity to speak and share. A healthy community makes room for all voices.
6. Privacy and Trust
Respect everyone’s privacy. This community relies on mutual trust—what is shared here, especially personal or sensitive discussions, should remain within the group.
7. Zero Tolerance for Harmful Behaviour
Bullying, harassment, intimidation, or repeated negative behaviour toward others will result in removal from the community.

Ignite Chelmsford, it's Community Manager, and moderators reserve the right to remove content or members that violate these guidelines to protect the integrity of the community.
