For some time the Ignite Cultural Partnership has been aware of a growing desire and established need for a collaborative community creative space in Chelmsford’s City Centre.

Thanks to all who came out to A Canteen Thursday night, it was a special one! With a more relaxed and intimate feel than usual, a good 20 people huddled in on the sofas and chatted about what’s next for Ignite meet ups.

Backnang in Germany has been twinned with Chelmsford since 1990. In 2020 we will share our 30th Anniversary. This is at a time where the world sees many divisions, so we believe messages of love, sharing and unity are important — especially during the Christmas holidays.

On Thursday 12th July, locals with an interest in the creative, cultural and heritage industries came together at Acanteen to Ignite Chelmsford. This month’s theme, The Power of Music, followed a celebration event held by the Chelmsford Arts and Cultural Festival, who shared the success of their events and thanked sponsors and supporters.

On Thursday 14th June, Ignite Chelmsford descended on The Transition for The Magic of Festivals.

On Wednesday 9th May, the Cramphorn Studio played host to over 80 creative minds celebrating the launch of Ignite Chelmsford, the city’s new cultural form. Opening the meet-up was new Front of House manager at Chelmsford Theatres, Amy Worsdale, who introduced the local brewery team now supplying the theatres’ bar with their unique products...
